So when the series was to restart, Sam and Andy had been married for six months, and a new batch of Rookies were starting out at 15 Division. The series was really exploring how to find your independence; within relationships, on the job, when you are used to working with others.
We were going to explore this in many ways. Oliver Matt Gordon was going to be newly single. As for the new rookies, she revealed that it was planned that one of them would be killed on the first day on the job. That would have an impact on the other characters. As for Sam and Andy, their relationship would have been explored. They would not have complete wedded bliss six months in, and White planned to explore what was next for the couple. I binged watched Rookie Blue and it stuck in my mind all the time would love for this to continue as i am watching some episoded again, i love sam and andy and would love to see them continue there marriage happy as the last series was the happiest sam had been xx please bring it bk x.
You shpuld deffinately bring rookie blue back for a new season but make it with andy and sam maybe having a baby instead of making it about them not being so happy in their marriage after 6 months…… i would rather see them making their own family and being happy than seeing them fight after only 6 months, they are a better couple than that.
It makes the show and the other rookies are great also!. Not dread them…. Marlo had more air time and focus then just about anyone. Fail, Fail, Fail. And now we, the fans, have no more Rookie Blue. Thank you Tassie for being so selfish! Someday you will learn to listen to your fans! And clearly the pattern would continue. And leaves the baby in the custody of a mother that was clearly unprepared and to be blunt, recently suffered from major bouts of instability.
It is so evident that the baby was just written in to create drama and little thought was given to the aftermath. You are so right. Thrown in and thrown in sloppy. No DNA test — how could Marlo be trusted after what she did in season 5 — and no baby name.
And I still say that Andy delivering the baby was the ultimate insult and soap opera play! Loved, loved, loved the Mcswarek thing, rooted for them from the beginning. Ditto to your comments as well! But I give a thumbs up to all who thought the show should go on for sure!!!
The world is screaming for it. I wanted them to get back together. If they need a Lesbian couple on the show—bring on another couple. Gail and Dov had a connection. They had chemistry on the screen. And with all her issues, she always seemed to put self aside when it mattered and do something for Dov or something he wanted her to do.
He made her a better woman and she made him a better man. Go way back to the beginning. Loved Sam n Andy!!! Loved Gail n Dov!!! Loved Tracy with the detective—was it Leon??? Loved the show!!! Before that…7th Heaven. Before that, Andy Griffith! And He could be her hero! Even to this point I still really want Gail and Chris back together. They had so much chemistry and good story lines ahead until they made the love triangle thing with Dov, which ended their relationship and then bamm Gail is a lesbian.
I wish they would have brought it back for a 7th season. I too agree that there should have been a test for the baby, just so off the mark with it coming into the plot. I do want to thank you for everyone on Rookie blue for all the years of enjoyment and entertainment! You all deserve an applause For all your creativity and all your hard work!!
The last thing I would have wanted to see is new Rookies and less time for the original Rookie Blue cast. Jumping 6 months with Andy and Sam newly married and then separating them would have been a major disappointment to me and then losing Chris, another.
Thanks for sharing Sherry. All of our favs had been there six years…. So while im sad imm happy too. I loved the show and was disappointed it ended. From the start I knew it was based around Andy but I was more interested in all the other characters. My favorite was Gail and loved it when when she fell for Holly. Living in the US , this was my first introduction to most of these players.. I look forward to following all of them. Thank you to the cast and crew for a wonderful show.
The finale was cool, but left several questions unanswered. What happened to the guy that was stabbed? I really love rookie blue. I can watch it over. And over again. My fav actors Andy and Sam just love them. Please can u bring season 7. I am hoping Netflix picks it up and adds more season. I think they should have 10 seasons. And when it does end—have a proper ending for each character. In fact I think a lot of us feel not only did you take a bullet, but you took it in the head.
Rookie Blue was a great show with fresh stories and characters, till it became a daytime soap. I also hated the Marlo baby line intensely. Why did Tassle do that? It ruined the whole show for me I must confess and nothing could sweeten it again.

I totally agree with the comment earlier as to how many really stupid shows seem to hang on, but a really good story like Rookie Blue gets the boot! If any of the actors are following these comments, you did a fantastic job!
I am heartbroken that RB has ended. I love love love the show and was one of the highlights to my summer!!!! I do wish they would reconsider! Andy should not have run back to Sam. He made his choice by staying with Marlo. Even after admitting to Oliver how he felt about Andy. Sam seemed happy to me when he was with Marlo. Andy had to deal with seeing Sam with Marlo every day at work. Sam just kept stabbing Andy in her heart.
Sam was the bad guy. He made everything complicated for everyone. He lied to Marlo about his feelings for Andy.
He hurt Andy again and again. I wish he ended up with Marlo and being unhappy for the choices he made. I wish Andy found a New Love. It broke my heart I watched this show from the beginning and watch the reruns over and over again my husband as well. This is a great loss I think season 7 sounds like it would be great. I really enjoyed watching rookie blue. I really feel that you should shoot another season. When you watch this show you feel like you are part of the lives of the actors growing and training to do their jobs.
I totally disagree about having too many episodes. I would have liked it if the dress was a tiny bit dirtier, actually, a little bloodier by the end. But we did want to throw Andy a big dilemma, which is, does she do the right thing as a police officer and as a person or does she get to the church on time?
Andy McNally has run away from him in the past. And if there was ever an obstacle in their way that she could conceivably run away from, it might be getting married to a man who has a baby with another woman.
What happened to her? What was it like writing those? It was hard and easy at the same time. It was strange.
I wrote them in one sitting, cried a lot and then worked on them with the actors and [director] David [Wellington]. We really worked on them, word by word, to make sure they were authentic and that the actors believed them. We ultimately stayed very close to the first draft that I wrote.
It seemed like Marlo would be thoughtful enough not to want to be there, even if Andy and Sam had invited them — and we really wanted one perfect, obstacle-free night for McSwarek.
