This class will focus on controlling movement, texture and weight using a razor and demonstrate the versatility of the straight edge razor. It is recommended that you use a Feather Plier razor for this class. Feb Edmonton Apr Montreal Classic Rebellion Master Cutting featuring Tristin Morrison Explore the creative process and learn how to develop new ideas for your sa- lon work and creative collections. In this session you will take an in-depth look at the Classics and learn how to approach them from a modern perspective, inspired by current trends and the ever-changing needs of the guest.

Evolve and refine the work that you do behind the chair. Learn how to utilize disconnection, increase your timing, free-hand cutting and how to expand usage of your tools. This session will teach styling techniques taken from the runways at New York Fashion Week. Participants will learn from tips and tricks from backstage and be inspired by current trends.

Take an in-depth look at styling techniques to develop your creative skill and create advanced styling looks using sets, hair pieces and irons. Learn new techniques and gain insight in selecting the appropriate techniques for your individual guests.

The Aveda Certified Educator Training Program is an advanced program specifically for operators in the Aveda Network who have a passion to be educators.

Successful candidates will join our team of educa- tors stimulating creativity and learning by conducting classes in a variety of educational settings. Who is an ACE? Day two focuses on all aspects of corrective colouring including colour balancing, pre-colouration and colour cleansing. This hair color class will provide learners with the essential tools to effectively formulate Full Spectrum Deep Ex- tra Lift and Deposit Cream Colour. DEEP colour is formulated for Dark Hair to achieve beautiful, customized results, from grey coverage to rich, vibrant tones on levels 1 to 4 and beyond.

Learn styling essentials and understand how to build retail sales and gain client loyalty. This class is essential for new and seasoned staff and is positioned to build confidence and strengthen styling techniques. Frontline Advisors are also welcome and encouraged to enroll in this class. A strong focus on product application and home care recommendations are embedded throughout this hands-on class. Smooth Infusion Texture Smoother provides a way to make the morning blow dry routine easier and gives controllable hair throughout the day.

This one day workshop will also ad- dress the re-growth application process for Smooth Infusion Permanent Retexturing System. Whether you need basic colour training for new staff or an in-salon Advanced Academy Technical Workshop, we have the resources to meet your educational needs.

Ana is a member of the design team for the Aveda Seasonal Collections. After graduating, Jon worked for Juut salons before spending time in Europe training with leading hairdressers in London and Paris.

The ability to use his technical and creative skills to empower people on an individual level is what drives Jon in his craft. He is known for his creative use of shape and texture while understanding the importance of ongoing change and evolvement — and the need to challenge boundaries.

Anna has ap- peared in numerous magazine publications and on television shows including Cityline, Fashion Television and So Chic. Anna inspires students across North America with her knowledge and expertise. Julie has supported Plugged In events for the past 3 years, as well as played an important role in the growth of our ACE program. Since being with Aveda , Kathy has had the opportunity to work with a number of international Aveda educators and assisted with various shows across North America.

Her passion for education is an integral part of her success with Aveda. While maintaining her clientele, Kathy also loves to inspire new talent. Lupe has taken part in numerous educational shows and events for Aveda. She has played a key role in the creation of Aveda Collections that set haircut and colour trends for the season.

Lupe is responsible for creating the Hair Colour Magic educational program, which teaches creative placement and the art of formulation for customized colour.

A gifted educator, a world-class colourist, Lupe epitomizes the true spirit of inspirational education. Lisa has fun with her craft and has had the op- portunity to style hair for the Academy Awards and has been featured at multiple Aveda Congress shows.

Marta is passionate about Aveda and hopes to inspire and be inspired through Aveda Education. Marta has taken a special interest in inspiring and supporting local artists and designers as the lead hairstylist for Vancouver Eco Fashion Week. He rose to prominence at the end of the s through innovative photographic partnerships with experimental fashion photog- raphers that established Gray as a leading force in the field of creative hair.

Phillip is already building a reputation as a promising editorial stylist working with ffwd, Wedding Bells Magazine, and appearing on Breakfast Television.

Phillip brings his passion for hair to every client he meets and every new project he takes on. A talented educator and mentor, Morgan loves teaching stylists of all levels the craft of hair cutting and styling. Her work has been featured on TV and in magazines locally and nationally and has had the privilege of working with David Adams, Antoinette Beenders, and Peter Gray.

Most recently, Sue worked alongside Antoinette Beenders to create the looks featured at Aveda Congress Tristin joined Aveda in and was an integral part of opening the first Aveda Academy Salon in Toronto. Tristin has headlined on the main stage at many Aveda shows including numerous Aveda Congress and Master Jam presentations. When Tristin is not in the academy he takes his vast experience and tech- nical precision on the road educating salon professionals across the globe.

The opportunity we had been given had not been taken lightly. To share the stage with the leaders in our industry today! To share our story with over 3, Aveda professionals who had flown in from around the world! These ten months were filled with plans and preparation. From designing the show concept to working with wardrobe and graphic designers. Photoshoots, workshops, countless hours of preparation from sketching and constructing elaborate hair sculptures and textures.

Intricate make up and nail designs, every element filled with detail and commitment to the vision. The next 5 days were to be filled with twists and turns. From the moment we had arrived in Minneapolis, the team were committed to the project. The passion and hard work did not falter! We were the first team on set everyday and the last to leave.

All of which did not go unnoticed! All of which paid off in the best possible way! This was no ordinary hair show! The teamwork and commitment to this project showed in every single element of the show.

Channing Work had designed the most amazing graphics and really brought our story to life. The five, 30ft screens demanded attention and his artistry was breathtaking!
